Omstart för European Cup

Systemet med European Cup hamnade lite i limbo när Pandanet gick ut för att satsa på
lagturneringen istället. Men poängen med EC (ursprungligen Matti Siivolas idé )
är att ha ett cupsystem gående kontinuerligt oberoende av sponsorer som kommer och går.
Jag har tjatat lite på EGF att få igång EC igen. Nu ska det starta igen från och med i höst.
Martin har anmält Leksand på lägsta nivån.
Vi borde kunna ha med en turnering till.
Praxis har varit att förbundet betalar hälften av EC-poängen och turneringsarrangören hälften.
Så ni som är intresserade av att ha er turnering med i EC, hör av er till förbundets styrelse.
Styrelsen skickar förslag till EGF.

Dear members of the European Go Federation

The start of the European Cup (ECup) 2011-2012 is been planned after the European Go Congress in Bordeaux. A tournament in the ECup pays the points to the EGF and then gives the points to the players on top places. The money paid goes to the prize fund. There may be five levels of tournaments with different fees and points.

Please propose your tournaments to the next ECup for the EGF. A country may have up to three tournaments. The EGF executive or the officer in charge will attempt to have the ECup balanced geographically, financially and over time span.

The prize fund is distributed to the players with most points. The prizes will be announced once the tournaments and size of the prize fund is known.

The European Cup 2011-2012
Points price: 10 euro a point
Levels: 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 euro

European Cup 2011-2012 will be run from 10th August 2011 to the end of 2012. European Cup 2013 will be run during year 2013.
